Vintage Chronograph - Angelus Chronographe Tachymètre
The Angelus Chronographe Tachymètre limited edition reimagines its racing DNA through a classic tachymeter scale. This new model retains the compact 37mm case and monopusher movement architecture of its award-winning predecessor.
For this new "Chronographe Tachymètre" collection, the brand has dispensed with the traditional telemeter scale in favor of a tachymeter scale. This modification imbues the watch with a distinctively sporty character, breaking away from the brand's established image of producing only small-sized timepieces.
These new models mark a decisive shift toward the aesthetic of mid-20th-century racing chronographs. The Chronographe Tachymètre retains the acclaimed "bi-compax" (two-register) layout but introduces a highly legible tachymeter track on the outer rim and enhances visual contrast through a color-blocked sub-dial design. Three configurations are available: one in 18K gold and two in stainless steel. The 18K gold model features a light gold dial with dark green-grey accents and is limited to 15 pieces; the stainless steel versions offer a choice between a salmon dial with grey sub-dials (limited to 30 pieces) and a grey dial with dark blue sub-dials (limited to 50 pieces).
In terms of dimensions, the new watch faithfully preserves the elegant profile of its predecessor, maintaining a highly wearable 37mm diameter and a slim thickness of just 9.25mm. At its heart lies the A5000 manual-winding movement—custom-made for the brand by La Joux-Perret—which powers an elegant monopusher chronograph function. The dial features a compact layout, combining a central chronograph seconds hand with a 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The movement operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
